Fairy Meadows, named by German climbers (″as fairy tale meadows″), this is locally called as Joot; it is a grassland near one of the base camp sites of the Killer Mountain famously know as Nanga Parbat. Fairy Meadows is located 3300 meters (10,800 ft) above sea level, located in Diamer District, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. Site is a very popular place for hiking and In 1995, the Government of Pakistan declared Fairy Meadows a National Park. Reaching Fairy Meadows
You can only choose a local jeep to go along Fairy Meadows by road. It is a 2-hour journey and you have to be prepared for it. The jeep will drop you some kilometers before the site. After that, you can go on foot. It will take almost 2 to 3 hours moving through the alpine forest and then you will reach the FM campsite. Be Prepared For the Trek
When you start your trekking in the fairy meadows, the first 30 minutes will be a bit difficult for you. You will get less oxygen so you must not lose your patience. Trekking always needs strong willpower so you must also have strong determination before starting. Many trekkers quit trekking and choose to move further by horse riding. You can stop at Beyaal Camp if you are moving towards Nanga Parbat base camp. You can take this as a lunch stopover and then go for Nanga Parbat. Hike to Fairy Meadows will take about 3 hours if you are an average or inexperienced hiker. Some local porters will also accompany you and they will help you in carrying your luggage.
